HDSS Sleman telah mengundang beberapa tokoh masyarakat mewakili kecamatan di Kabupaten Sleman untuk mengikuti diskusi informal dalam rangka inisiasi pembentukan Community Engagement Committee (CEC). Pembentukan CEC bertujuan untuk meningkatkan peran serta dan kerjasama tokoh masyarakat sebagai penggerak, fasilitator dan motivator bagi masyarakat dalam kegiatan HDSS Sleman. Diskusi informal ini dimaksudkan untuk menggali permasalahan yang dirasakan masyarakat terkait pengambilan data HDSS Sleman dan memohon masukan dari masyarakat terkait rencana pembentukan CEC. Kegiatan ini berlangsung pada tanggal 22 Oktober 2019 di sekretariat HDSS Sleman, Gedung Radiopoetro Lantai 1 Sayap Barat, Fakultas Kedokteran, Kesehatan Masyarakat dan Keperawatan UGM.
HDSS Sleman menyelenggarakan penyuluhan kepada ibu-ibu PKK Dusun Randugunting, Desa Tamanmartani, Kecamatan Kalasan. Penyuluhan tersebut mengangkat topik mengenai penyakit tidak menular. Pemilihan topik ini dilatarbelakangi permintaan Ibu Dukuh karena warga ingin mengetahui lebih jauh tentang jenis-jenis penyakit tidak menular, faktor risiko dan cara mencegahnya. Kegiatan penyuluhan dihadiri oleh kurang lebih 30 orang.
Materi penyuluhan disampaikan oleh Vena Jaladara, SKM., MPH dari Departemen Perilaku Kesehatan, Lingkungan dan Kedokteran Sosial FK-KMK UGM. Bu Vena memaparkan pengertian penyakit tidak menular, jenis-jenis penyakit tidak menular yang sering muncul di masyarakat seperti penyakit jantung dan pembuluh darah, diabetes melitus, kanker dan penyakit paru obstruktif kronis (PPOK), faktor risiko dan cara pencegahan melalui gerakan masyarakat hidup sehat (GERMAS).
On 23 July 2017, the Sleman HDSS conducted a health seminar about HIV/AIDS in Pundong I. Mrs. Ipunk from Sardjito Hospital delivered the HIV/AIDS topic. The attended participants were 40 people. This seminar got a good response from communities.

The Sleman HDSS conducted the reproductive health education on 12 September 2017 at Dusun Mrican. The speaker was dr. Prima who delivered the cervical cancer topic. This health education got a good response from the community and they expected that this activity will routinely hold every month.

The community service program was held at Dusun Kuningan on 18 August 2017. Agung Nugroho, AMG, MPH as the speaker delivered the topic about elderly health introduction. Communities in Dusun Kuningan gave well appreciated and asked for regular seminars every month.

Health seminar in Candiwinangun on 21 May 2017 was conducted for the woman of the family welfare program. The speaker was a postgraduate student of health promotion, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada. This seminar aimed to provide skin health knowledge such as kind of skin disease, skin disease preventing and clean and healthy behavior introduction. The total attendees were 40 participants. The society paid attention to the speaker and satisfied with the seminar in Dusun Candiwinangun.
The Sleman HDSS held this seminar on 13 May 2017, 04.00 p.m. in Dusun Sekarsuli, Sendangtirto Berbah. The speaker was dr. Abdul Ghofir, Sp.S (K) from Neurology Unit. This seminar aimed to provide knowledge about stroke such as the risk factor of stroke and stroke management. The total attendees were 30 women of the family welfare program. Based on the head of the district’s confirmation, there were many people in this area had a stroke. Therefore they were enthusiastic with an explanation from the speaker.
The Sleman HDSS held a health education on 30 April 2017 at Dusun Pundong 2, Tlogoadi, Mlati, Sleman and discussed about self-medication. There are 30 women of the family welfare program attended this activity. The detail issues discussed were about the Sleman HDSS survey result, medicine use rational and self-medication. The participants were enthusiastic about the seminar.

The Sleman HDSS conducted the seminar about skin health and cosmetic on 21 April 2017 at Dusun Kajor with dr. Niken Trisnoati, MSc, Sp.KK, Ph.D. as the speaker. This seminar aimed to provide insight into skin health especially related to cosmetics. Coincide with Kartini Day, the participants were 50 women. They paid attention during activity.

On 25 July 2018, the Sleman HDSS conducted a health seminar about elderly dental health in Dusun Kentungan. Siti Fatimah, S.Kp.G, MPH was the seminar speaker. This topic based on the community’s request. The Sleman HDSS team and participants discussed the most common elderly dental problem, dental care, and food preference for dental health.
